What does Danish do?
Danish Elahi is a backend software engineer with over two years building enterprise-grade RESTful APIs in C# and .NET, using ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core.
He works across the whole backend lifecycle: schema design, API development, performance optimization and Azure deployment. He is currently a Software Engineer at Crossonic in Lahore.
Backend engineering in C# and .NET: ASP.NET Core services, REST API design, and the data layer underneath them with Entity Framework Core against SQL Server.
Around that sits the infrastructure the APIs need to hold up: Apache Kafka for event-driven communication, Redis for caching, SignalR for real-time features, and Microsoft Azure for deployment.
Two builds are written up here. Digital Austrian is a large-scale internal operations platform that Crossonic built for Austrian Airlines, where Danish was a backend engineer from September 2024 to June 2026.
Budgetick is his own product: an offline-first mobile app combining finance, habits, tasks and goals in one place. It went live in August 2026 at budgetick.com.
Digital Austrian is a large-scale internal operations management system that Crossonic built exclusively for Austrian Airlines. It handles flight management, passenger tracking, invoice generation and bag tag generation.
Danish worked on it as a backend developer at Crossonic from September 2024 to June 2026: building services in C# and ASP.NET Core, designing the REST APIs behind the operational workflows, resolving production issues, and optimizing API response times. He implemented the Unit of Work pattern for transaction consistency, and worked with Apache Kafka for event-driven communication and Redis for caching.
Budgetick is Danish’s own product: an offline-first mobile app that puts finance, habits, tasks and goals in one place instead of one app each. It went live in August 2026.
Every feature works with zero connection and syncs in the background once the device is online. There is no bank linking, so no third-party credential sharing. Savings goals auto-contribute from the live budget rather than sitting as static targets. It is live at budgetick.com.
.NET is his primary stack, across more than two years of professional work. He builds services and REST APIs with ASP.NET Core on .NET 6 and .NET 8, and uses Entity Framework Core against SQL Server with both Code-First and Database-First approaches.
That is the stack behind his work at Crossonic, including Digital Austrian.
Designing and building enterprise-grade RESTful APIs, modelling the data underneath them, and optimizing both. On Digital Austrian that has meant reducing latency across key endpoints and implementing the Unit of Work pattern for transaction consistency.
He has also designed database schemas and written optimized SQL queries that contributed to a 20% improvement in application responsiveness, and applied the Repository Pattern and Role-Based Access Control where the domain called for them.
He is a Software Engineer at Crossonic in Lahore, a role he moved into in October 2025 after joining as an Associate Software Engineer in March 2024.
His current work is enterprise RESTful APIs in .NET 8 and Entity Framework Core, and Azure deployments. His Digital Austrian work ran from September 2024 to June 2026. Alongside the day job he is building Budgetick, his own product, which went live in August 2026.
Over two years of backend work that all went to production. He builds enterprise RESTful APIs in C# and ASP.NET Core with Entity Framework Core, and he has been doing it inside a live operational system where a bug means someone is stuck at a desk rather than a red build.
Concretely: on Digital Austrian he reduced API response times, implemented the Unit of Work pattern for transaction consistency, and designed schemas and optimized SQL queries that contributed to a 20% improvement in application responsiveness.
He also ships without being asked to. Budgetick is his own product end to end, offline-first, live at budgetick.com since August 2026. He is open to remote backend engineering roles.
He works a project through six stages, written up under ~/approach: understand the work before the endpoints, model the data, agree the API contract, build the boring version, measure and then optimise, ship it and stay on it.
Each stage says what exists at the end of it and names the work it is drawn from.
Languages: C#, SQL and TypeScript. Frameworks: .NET 6, .NET 8, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core. Database: SQL Server, with schema design, Code-First, Database-First and query optimization.
Messaging and cache: Apache Kafka, Redis, SignalR, Firebase Cloud Messaging. Cloud: Microsoft Azure, including Blob Storage and App Services, plus Docker. Frontend: React and Vite. Architecture: RESTful API design, Unit of Work, Repository Pattern, Role-Based Access Control.
A BSc in Software Engineering from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, completed between September 2020 and June 2024, with a GPA of 3.52 out of 4.00.
He started at Crossonic in March 2024, so the last months of the degree overlapped with the job.
